door molding removal
ive seen a couple psd's without the door trim thats in the middle of the doors the thin black trim and i think the new ones never came with it, and was wondering if i removed it does it leave holes or just a sticky residue that needs to be gum wheeled off? Because i think they look alot better without the trim and 2 small spots are kinda peeling away on the corners anyways. So if anybody has any info on this please let me know.

Its double sided tape. But you need to be very careful because it will pull the clearcoat and paint when you pull them off.

Use a heat gun and get them warmed up, start at one end and slowly work it up enough to get some nylon fishing line under it. Keep it hot and work it back till it's off. If your lucky you might not need the fishing line for most of it. Get yourself some glue remover and clean up the residue and polish it up nice and your done.

You may want to wait until the spring when it is around at least 50-60 degrees out. Less chance of damaging the clear coat. I know the molding is bothering you. But I think it is better to wait until the warmer temps so you don't damage the clear coat. I have heard of people trying to take this molding off and taking the clear coat with it. Just my opinion, you can do it when ever you wish but if it was me I would wait until the outside temps are warmer out.

When you do this, I recommend 3m hand polish, if you use this polish you will never know that you had a door molding on your truck
