8000k temp is going to look like a rice burner in the distance. just fyi. you want 5000k, or 6000k at the highest.

5000k will be a pure white light, 6000k will have a slight bluish hint. As for the harley lights, someone will chime in but you will need to cut a little bit behind the headlights to make them fit.

i would stick to 6k lights.... check out the images section on here: HID Conversion Kit all those are running 6k lights...

as far as harley lights go... OEM will be the best quality but will be expensive...

if your in socal... i saw some for sale for about 400 bucks that were OEM.... usually they run around 250 each side.... i know you can get some on ebay for around 200-250 bucks that are aftermarket... only thing you have to worry about those is condensation... just use some good silicon around the edges before you install them and you should be ok.... our ballasts are full digital 100% water proof... we give 2 year warrant with our kits...

6k is the only way to go imo. It gives that ever so slight blue tint that has the highline look to it that your asking for. 8k would be too blue imo.

I have 8k HID's in harley headlights from "headlight depot" on ebay, I got the HID's with bulbs from a former user that is now banned, they were $120 shipped, I only recently installed them and one of the balasts doesn't always come on! I even added relays for extra power but it's still hit an miss, the Balasts say they have a warranty which is void if opened, but no company info on the balasts.

Make sure you buy from a reputable seller so if they do go, which they will eventually you can get replacements.

Anyways when they do come on they look great!

All HID Ballast will work, Just make sure your Watt Bulb is the same as the ballast you intend to buy.

They will cost you about 30 bucks
HID REPLACEMENT BALLAST 9000 SERIES ALL-H SERIES ALL:eBay Motors (item 110392853672 end time Aug-18-09 13:42:19 PDT)

The connectors on HID's are almost 99% the same

I have 50watt 6K HID's Hi/Low in the main headlights and 35watt 6K in my Fog lights. I love it, you can see forever with the Highbeams on
