Bought a lift from Cary @ ctperformanceinc.com had to return it due to the fact that he threw in a few items @ the end and they were way overpriced compared to what I could get them for myself (a supposed dealer?). I received some items accidentally and they were shipped from another retail shop instead of the manufacturer. Had later talked to Icon myself they didnt agree w/ his advice and told me to order the 6" spring lift instead of 4.5" hanger and $400 worth the upgraded new factory springs. Cost me $100 to ship them back to Ford! Still arguing about whos going to pay for that...
Ive done business with CT performance before. He was reasonably priced and has a HUGE wealth of knowledge when it comes to 4x4 off road stuff. Im sure the pimple faced dork who took your order at offroadwarehouse.com really has a clue what works best while off road .

Cary knows his stuff about lifts, only person I know of running a 2008 suspension on a 1997 truck.

Cheaper is not always better, calling the cheapest place and asking for instructions on how to install something or if something isn't right will mostly get you pissed off rather than helped. Kinda like going into an autozone and trying to get a valvestem, the ignorant kid behind the counter asked me what year and make of vehicle it was for, I'm like, "are you serious?"

Personally, I'd rather pay a little more and get quality parts and expertise from a reputable source then from some giant faceless warehouse that specializes in foreign made junk and often will not help if there is a problem. I find that it costs more in the long run.

Been there myself, more than once, and probably will be again. That's going to happen with all the online businesses that there are. There will always be someone cheaper online making mere pennies to make a sale. But what is their service and overall product knowledge like? You get what you pay for, IMO...

I've never done business with ctperformance, but how in the hell are you mad at them for that? Suck it up, learn from your mistake and know next time to do more research. Sounds like it's your fault, not ct's, don't dog them for it...
If your dumb*ss could read youd see that he gave me a recommendation on more parts at the last minute. Took his word for the price no good! Then started wondering about the other info he gave me. The man. (Icon) bluntly stated that would not be the correct way to go. Therfore I had to send the other parts back that he recommended. I would not have used him except for the fact he jumped in on several of my posts (on this site trying to sell which on the rest of the forums I belong to is not allowed) while I was asking questions about peoples opinions on what to use. Im just trying to save someone else the trouble. People like you two make this site pretty well useless.

Man this sites quick to jump! Called Icon if you guys could read. Just ordered the parts from somewhere else still Icons parts.
Cary stated that 5100 Bilsteins are too soft in his opinion and recommended the 5125's. To my knowledge assisted by offroadwarehouse.com those are the same valved shocks! Just differrent in length.
People w/ out knowledge should not post, your just screwing up the help others w/ knowledge are trying to give. WHy dont you go buy a Toyota or somethin'. You probably just own a diesel cause it sounds cool. You probably dont even use it for what its actually made for.

I have elected to stay out of this as it never leads to a good result, my reputation speaks for itself.. I will not get into the details but maybe you like to explane why you refuse to let the shipper pick up a box of parts that you didn't pay for. Since I returned all your $$ instantly as I said I would after you accused me of riping you off, you haven't a right to keep them.

Done.

I have talked with Bilstein directly in the past about these two series of shocks. And guess what they told me?? Asked me what truck I owned and recommended the 5100 series, said the 5125's were all wrong.

Apparently they don't even know what is best and its there product. Because years later the majority of the people on the few sites I frequent run the 5125's because they are better. Hmmm.

Without the help of people that are knowledgable, these sites would be a cluter F*&% and would do no good and would disappear. These sites are only as good as there sponsors and knowledgable people that frequent them. I can personally vouch for both Jim and Cary as knowledgable people.

Its always funny how some details of customers commplants get overlooked.

In response to Cary and Tim, not that I need explain myself, as Im not the one with my hand in the cookie jar.

I told them they could have your (oops sorry) their box back, if they get you to give me the $100 that Sunset Ford made me pay to return the "W" code springs you had me order. No response from either of you?????????????????

PRETTY SURE I STATED THIS ALREADY ( not in so many words)

How do you explain being a dealer(which you are, not arguing that) but telling me you cant get an item any cheaper than what you charged me, but then it shows up from another retailer in their box. Why not ICON themselves? ANd definetly why not someone like offroadwarehouse.com, where I myself can get it cheaper than you a dealer? (Pretty sure you can shop their too?) Its one thing to tell me you cant beat everyones prices cause you are not as big of seller (pimple face dorks Im talkin about, again) which I was sympathetic about. However, correct me if Im wrong along w/ shockwarehouse for the shocks you charged me $50 more for than I could get them for, you ordered parts from someone else whos more than everyone (according to you!)
I believe I have not left anything out...

Besides, all I asked for was you to split the difference of what you were over. You charged me $200 for a bash bar, which sells from everyone for $120 shipped. Instead you refunded my money, which was fine until you hung up on me three times when I tried to call you back and offer to pay you for what you ordered and let me get the shocks somewhere else which split the differrence (almost) anyways. Im not tolerable of people who act like that... reputation you say?
