John Wood Econo HD

So my newly acquired truck has a tranny that pegs the temperature gauge on my Edge Insight (275 degrees) while towing a 4k pound boat. There is a local dealer that can get/install John Wood transmissions. My question to everyone who has the "Econo HD" is how is it holding up and have you had any issues? Thanks for everyone's time.

275 holy crap! Are you sure the temp is correct? Is the tranny slipping excessively or showing signs of "dying"?
You may not need a tranny if not. But although i dont know about the "econo hd" John woods is a great guy that makes a great product

I honestly don't know if that temp is accurate or not. I just bought the truck about 3 weeks ago and my first trip traveling up the freeway with the boat in tow caused the truck to throw trans codes. I picked up the edge insight to help troubleshoot it the next trip towing and those are the temps it read off the obdII. The trans did not go in to limp mode or puke any fluid and the insight shows 150-165 just driving around empty. I believe I can hook up a real temp sensor to the insight so that will probably by my next plan of action. But I also want to start saving my pennies for a new trans and the JW Econo trans is looking real attractive since I am not really into big power.
