Exclamation Possible Trans over haul?? HELP!!!!

Hey guys,

Brand new to the forum but I need some serious help. I have a 2000 F350 with 270k on stock trans and clutch. While going to the fair yesterday and waiting in line to pay for parking. The truck started to shake, as the truck started to shake I had let go of the brake and the truck lunged forward slamming on the brake again I tried to take it out of first gear and it was "stuck" I muscled it out and sat for a second as of now the truck started to squeal. Now when I went home it still had a little squeal and when i pushed in the clutch it would whine. Now not knowing much about these trucks I would guess it was a throw out bearing or something with the pressure plate. Either way I figure I will need to pull my trans.

Which brings me to my few questions. How hard is this to do by my self not really knowing how to pull a trans? Also since the trans is going to be out of the truck and for how many miles are on the truck what do I all replace in the trans? I know the clutch for sure but what else? Are there heavy duty components that came replace stock or is it all just oem? I figure if I'm going to stick xx amount of dollars in might as well make it strong and start building on and on and on.

Any help would be great
Thanks!!!
