I can't afford a BTS or JW trans so please don't mention it.

Im going to start buying parts for a local shop to do the rebuild. What should I be buying? My TC is slipping so I know I need to replace that and Im getting a JW valve body. Any other parts I should buy specifically? Do I need extra bands or specialty planetaries?

how much you looking to spend? i can get you upgraded billet parts or a rebuild kit if thats what you want....

a nice unit with billet pieces, clutches, TC ect is around 3k for all the parts...

FYI you can get a JW towmaster trans for about $3200..

Im looking for a mostly stock rebuild nothing to big cause Im not planning on keeping this trans for over a year. The only thing that is wrong with my tranny is the TC Skipping from 2 to 3

man if you were closer I would hook you up with a guy I know that rebuilds trannys out of his shop.retired Ford tranny tech so he still gets Ford parts cheap.Rebuilt my buddys tranny for $400 but that was only clutchs and some other wearable parts.No TC or sensors ect cause my buddy just wanted it to get him by.I rode in the truck and it shifts great and firm now w/ stage 1's and a chip.check out Racer X for tranny kits and stuff.Heard great things about them and there TC's are cheap even for 3clutch billet cover ones.You can call them and they will tell you what you need.They have a lot of knowledge on trannys.

they have modded valve bodys also and tools if you wanna try it yourself and they have tech support if you try building it yourself and get in a jam.

Where at in MI is this guy? MY dad is in Sterling Heights. I just bought a Billet Input shaft and a Billet output shaft for a sweet deal Woohoo.

I believe it is considered potterville.If you look on a map,it is located south of Lansing off I-69.I got his cell # too.I've talked with him a few times and he has answered my questions and offered to read my tranny codes for free.I know 3 people that have had trannys built by him and all 3 were used hard.I need to call him sometime when I have money and get something figured out with mine.
