New master cylinder feels funny

I was taking a ride thismorning when my pushrod for the clutch pedal snapped and the clutch feel to the floor. After the hassle of driving it home without a clutch I pulled the whole master/slave Assembly out and replaced it will a pre filled system. Before any of this I knew My master was having issues because my pedal was almost touching my dash but I was used to driving it like that so I never bothered fixing it. Now with the new assembly the clutch seems to touch the floor. It disengages and everything but It just doesnt feel right. It didnt look like the residuary for the master cylinder was filled all they way but I didnt mess with it because it said it was pre filled. Could this cause it to go so low or maybe this is just normal and Im just used to doing it the wrong way lol. Any advise is appreciated thank you.
