NEED TRANNY TECH HELP.......

here we go again....i started my truck yesterday and went to town everything was fine then all of a sudden the trans started to slip between shifts and with 1 mile no forward gears. reverse works perfect no slippage or anything. the sad part of all of this was I had to have it towed on a chevy rollback. thats sucked..also just a couple days ago i had a very loud rattle in the truck then all of a sudden it went away...i checked the converter and it looks new....all nice black shiny paint , also someone must have done some kind of trans work because the pan gasket is, also forgot to mention. there was trans fluid coming out from trans seal (te one that goes around the converter shaft, then that stopp leaking 5 mins later...anybody have a clue on what might be going on here...i really dont want to have to replace the trans or have it sent out for a rebuild, because if thats the case the truck is gonna have to stay parked until spring or sell out....i am desparate as this is the only vehicle i have to drive.......many thanks to anyone who can help with this problem......

have you checked the fluid? if it was leaking it's probably way low.

yep, check and it was 1 and and a hlf qts. low, top it off no difference....

I'm sorry to say but I'm leaning towards a rebuild. With all those mods and nothing done to the tranny it's not good. My trans was getting a little sloppy and I got valve body to help it out but i'm still saving for a trans upgrade.

i sure hope thats not the case, cause the ole girl is gonna have to sit.this s#$%s i just bought this truck a month ago....my very first ford, i love the truck but its starting to put a bad taste in my mouth

A shiny TC is not the normal color of a stock TC. You may have a rebuilt unit. If it is not moving at all its prolly has a prob w/the forward clutchs. With that much HP you will need a bad azz trans. Sorry for your problems.

anybody..anyone.... got any ideas before i go tearing this transmission out..i was hoping that it might something simple and not a complete rebuild....
