The trucks surges in reverse

when iI put the truck in reverse it surges ... like when i hit the gas pedal it goes then cuts out then goes the cuts out ... anyone ever experienced this ??? no other problems

when it does this the OD light is flashing on the shifter handle

x2 on getting it scanned. Mine started surging in reverse like that, than started doing it in first. Thought my brakes were sticking. Than my torque converted became the obvious culprit, wasnt unlocking/ locking correct. than my transmission went bang
