autometer trans gauge

my gauge moves a little bit when i turn the key on? and it reads 40-50 degrees hotter than what it really is,any clue to what it could be? i have it grounded to the tranny pan if that matters.

2000 short bed 2wd extra cab with 22"kmc monsters (bronze) and 2"lowering shackles
fpr mod 78psi,zoodad,k-n cold air kit,foil delete
DP Tuner F-5 chip ,AIH delete
oil cross over line,sonnex shift kit
5" turbo back straight pipe exhaust (farm boys)
Recon ZXT digital gauge
kenwood indash DVD and infinity highs
punch 200 amp Q-logic 10" sub

Are your gauges electric or mechanical?

TW 6pos chip, S&B CAI, Monster 4" exhaust w/ Power Elbow, Big Head WGA, Technicooler, ITP boost fooler, Gen 1 Wicked Wheel, Six-Gun Tuner, Optima Yellow Tops, AutoMeter(Boost, Trans, EGT), CCV mod, MTS TC, MTS valve body, Trans Tech performance rebuild kit, TransGo shift kit, Hornblasters 242 Shocker Train Horns.

i have a temp gun and i put it on all the tranny lines,pan,cooler and everything and the hottest i found was 170 and the gauge reads 210? my buddys truck has the same gauge and he said his gauge needle does not move at all when he turns the key on?
