Are your gauges electric or mechanical?

The movement is just your 12v signal reaching the gauge. & for the temp. reading; how do you know it's 50deg. more than it's supposed to be?

i have a temp gun and i put it on all the tranny lines, pan, cooler and everything and the hottest i found was 170 and the gauge reads 210? my buddys truck has the same gauge and he said his gauge needle does not move at all when he turns the key on?
