Trans may be going

Well everyone 157,xxx miles on the old 99.5 PS and i think the trans is going. It wont go into 2nd gear driving regularly. I hacve to romp on it up to 2500rpm then let off and romp back on it real quick then it will slam into 2nd gear. Every other gear works smoothly and downshifts fine.

Any ideas anyone for a possible cure?

yeah a new rebuild sounds like its on its way out. same thing happened to mine on one of my 7.3's. cost me $1800 for a remanufactured one with a 12 month warranty.

well, i think i get a temp cure for it now. I was about a half-qt low on fluid as well as i turned the chip down to tow economy to take some strain off of it.
