99 7.3 no overdrive and reverse slips

Ok buddy just got a truck no overdrive, and reverse takes 5 seconds or so to engage. And reverse slips. No overdrive light flashing or anything. Goin down the road if you let off the gas it drops right down to idle, shouldn't the rpms stay up and then drop to idle after you hit the brake? Thanx in advanced

Reverse taking a few seconds is normal all the 7.3s do it.

Its supposed to pretty much drop to idle. Not immediately but within a second or two.
I bet this is his and your first exp driving a 7.3. All you describe is fairly common.

I've owned 3 obs powerstrokes with the e4od any ways I'm pretty sure reverse shouldn't slip and there should be overdrive
