I called my dealer today to see if they had a trans cooler bypass valve in stock. The parts guy tells me he never heard of it. I was waiting for about 5 minutes and then he puts me on hold for another 5 minutes. He finally comes back and tells me they don't stock them but can get one in by tomorrow.

I couldn't believe that such a common wear item such as this is unheard of. This is one a few oem parts carried by Dieselsite so it must be a common problem. I guess ford doesn't ever replace just the valve, it's so much more lucrative to replace the whole trans.

I guess this is why when I just had it the dealer the dealers trans tech was baffled at the fact that we had pressure coming out of line going to my cooler. He had no explanation and never saw anything like it.

Maybe it was all just an act.

Hopefully it gets here soon. I can't wait to get it back in place and see my trans temps drop again so I can hook up the trailer and move my horses.

Reminds me of my flexplate/flywheel discussion at the dealer the other day (admittedly I discovered Ford labels them both flywheels, but "flexplate" ain't greek you know). Oh well, at least they didn't try to sell you spark plugs...
