'01 X 4R100 - preventive actions?
I got this rig with 33K miles on it...use primarily for towing. New to Ford and to Diesel. I've heard that this tranny has an "anode" that is problematic. Can someone explain and is there preventive action that can forestall this anode failure? Can this anode be changed out? Can one tell if this may have already been done? OASIS has no record....this was apparently a repo that sat in a garage for a while. What other preventive actions can be taken on this tranny? I understand that the tranny is the weak point in these rigs.

Someone is pulling your leg..no anode in a trans, maybe they ment a Diode, it sometimes goes out but its not that common. Best preventive action is to NEVER allow anyone to flush the trans..pull the pan only and install a new filter and fill. Do this every 30k. I'd also get rid of the Juice and get a chip from TW.

My apologies...I meant diode, not anode, just a little brain fart. So, seems a pan pull and new filter is in order.....and no flushing. I just got the Juice based on other recommends. What is TW? I'm not well versed as yet in the lingo. In any case, can't afford to be flipping mods around at the moment. What harm can the Juice do? I'm running in tow mode (position 2) most of the time.

TW...is Tony Wildman who programs adjustable chips from 1 to 6 settings. You can buy direct or from one of his Dealers.
