hot tranny need help

Hey guys i was driving my 02 around today and didnt go very far and noticed the transmition gauge was running way higher then normal. what could this mean and what should i do?

Bypass valve stuck open?

Do you have an aftermarket trans cooler?

the stock trans temp gauges arent that good anyway.

does it give you a actual temp reading?

stock cooler sucks, bypass valve issue.

Bypass valve won't mean much. As BTS removes it anyway. Unless urs is stuck closed and something is keeping from not opening all the way. Like a sticky T-stat.
