guru's on clutches 97's

The ole truck is getting hard to get in gear ,mainly lower and reverse, I checked the clutch and it looked fine,it's been replaced once in 233000 miles.so I looked at the pedal rod connecting to the clutch rod and it has about 1/2" play in it could that be the problem or the slave cylinders

yes the bushings wear out.
i replaced mine with a kit i got off e-bay that used a Heim joint, nice little set up and much smoother action.

Also check the fire wall for flex while pumping the clutch. If it is flexing go to the dealer and get a reinforcement bracket.
