Transmission problem

Hi All! i just completed an engine rebuild on my 01 F250 powerstroke and after i have it back in and running i am having a transmission problem. It doesn't want to engage in first or reverse but once going the other gears seem ok. I did disconnect the lines to the cooler when i pulled the engine so i'm not sure if that has something to do with it. The trannie was fine before the engine overhaul but was moved around abit during engine installation. Any ideas on what to check? Thanks for looking!

Send a message via AIM to dereku
check fliud levels and don't forget to run it through all the gears before driving it the first time. what most likely happened was you drained the fliud out of first gear and it just needs to rebbuild pressure. happened to me a few times.

Low fluid. Fluid level should be 1/4 inch above full mark when hot. Dipstick is too long. Preston
