Help...Rear trans seal
Well I was putting on my new exhaust this weekend and noticed I have some fresh trans fluid coming out of the rear of the transmission. Is the seal easy to replace and if so about how long does it take? Weekend or evening job?

I don't know how our transmission are, but a car I had the seal was just tapped into the end housing. The shop guy pulled the driveshaft, pryed out the old one and tapped in a new one and re-installed the driveshaft....without draining the tranny.
Might want to crawl under again to see if yours is like that. If so, it might only take you a little while. Sorry I couldn't help more - My truck's outside, but because I'm at work, don't wanna go crawling under with my office clothes. I have a Chilton's manual at home, so I don't have access to that either. Good luck! |

i blew my FRONT seal a couple months back , and some internal damage, but all together it took about 2 days, and 1500$ im not sure if the seal only wouldve been cheaper, but they probably have to drop the trannie, and that adds time, wich meens more money, keep us posted on what happens.
