How to read the tag on a transmission

I have a 1999 Ford f-250 7.3 liter diesel, transmission went out on it, pulled transmission out from under truck, now looking at the tag, but not sure what to make of this, what do all the codes mean, looked in door jamb, but no sticker to identify what I have.

Automatic transmission is not for someone to just tackle if you've never done it before.

Sure it is. That's how you learn. It's not for the non-mechanically inclined to attempt. Trans aren't that complicated, but doing one thing wrong will leave you on the side of the road in a hurry.

As long as you're aware of the risks, and as long as you are prepared to drop money on a new unit, I don't see the harm. You may just do a bang up rebuild that lasts you another 200k, saving a few grand in the process.
