ZF-5 speed parts?

i have a 1997 f-250 powerstroke with a 5 speed manual transmission, and the synchronizer for 2nd gear and reverse is bad. Ford has discontinued parts for it and i cant find any parts to fix it. Is there any place that makes parts that i can buy because i dont want to pay $4200 for a new one.. Thanks for any input..

autozone sales rebuild kits for them. but I think they run like $750-800.
my old truck would grind when I bought it so I changed the fluid to a good synthetic and it shifted smooth as silk until a tree fell on it I miss that truck! let use know what you find.

Good Luck

I've rebuilt quite a few manuals using parts from them. I've always had great customer service and fast shipping, most of the gears I've ordered have had a Ford stamp on them. Talk to them on the phone and they seem very knowledgeable (sp) and if your ordering gears be sure to have tooth counts when you call.
