Bypass Teardown

I tried to install a new kit in the tranny cooler bypass but mine don't want to come apart. I need to do it so hopefully my tranny stops overheating. Anybody have any tips for getting it apart? I tried putting it in a vice and using a punch to separate them but didn't want to completely destroy it. Thanks for helping.

So here's round two. I got the bypass apart and cleaned and reinstalled the new pieces and put back in. Also blew a little of fluid out of cooler lines to make sure it wasn't blocked. Now I started truck and backed out of drive way shifted into drive and it killed the motor. Tried alot of times by starting it and it dying when shifted in any forward gear. On the way home yesterday the O/D light started flashing so I stopped at advance auto and the code was P1754. Drove home about 15 miles without any problems but with light still flashing. I have read a lot of posts about torque convertor locked up, solenoids malfunctioning, and the general analogy of the trans is bad. Anybody have any ideas on what to look at?

Round 3. Sent truck to tranny shop and found I had a bad solenoid pack. Replaced and all better.
