trans loses grab around 40 mph and rpms spike to 3k

ok i have a 01 with the 4r100 and my truck wont let me go over 40 mph with out the rpms spiking to 3k and not even driving hard. My temps are reading 140 on my trans gauge. so does this mean my trans is shot again? the fluid is reddish pink like normal and it dont smell burnt or look burnt. i have a leak under the inspection plate and thats all i can describe really. the trans has been rebuilt about 1.5 years ago and its out of warranty(one year 12000 miles warranty)

i would see about getting the eletronics in it inspected or even the valve body it could be a valve leaking or sticking open common in rebuilds even more so with the 2nd gear valve from being pinched by over torqueing it but you should have noticed that when it was put back in those are what i would look at after fixing the leak okay after reading that is coming from under the inspection plate it could be a front seal where the input shaft is or it may even be the front pump in the trans is there any other noises actions or smells you can explain to better help with a possable diag

was it the mechanical diode, that lead to its rebuilt in the first place? Sounds like your TQ isn't functioning right. Wonder if they installed the original one back in, after rebuilding.
