Turbine Speed Sensor Error Code

My OD light started to flash on the shift selector. took it to my tranny guy. it is throwing 2 codes: 1 ) a bad turbine sensor error code and 2) a bad turbine sensor circuit code. So, I replaced the turbine sensor. same problem. trans shifts ok one minute and then hunts for a gear the next. Sometimes, it runs so well you'd never know a problem exists. In fact, the light will sometimes go out only to return the next day or miles down the road. Doesn't seem to be slipping. Anyway, I inspected (as best I could) the wiring harness too. All looks good. Question, could the TW Chip be causing the problem? I had it reburned last summer. Or, is there a place along the wiring harness prone to breaking? bad connections? this is getting very frustrating. thanks!
