I don't really know for sure what the dates are but you should be able to check out the build date. There are also several differences such as the intake size and intake air heater not being there on the early ones.
The best way to see if my computer will work for your truck is probably to pull yours out to check the numbers on it and see how they compare with the numbers on mine. We can talk price once we figure out if we think it will work. |

also, i am wanting to know exactly what has to be done with the wiring the guy that will be helping me said i should find that out before i start since he cant reflash the computer, will a chip set up for a manual clear it up? he said it would throw all kinds of codes as soon as its unplugged

aaand is the zf6 off a 6.8 gas the same as the zf6 put on the diesel? like mounting and are the gears in the diesel more beefed up than was put on the gas?

I ran mine with the automatic computer for a bit and it didn't actually throw a light. The only problem it had was some slight stuttering at certain loads. There is a pair of wires you need to cross to make it start. I don't think a chip will fix the problem.
I also don't believe the bell housings are the same between the gas and diesel. I think you need one from a 7.3. |
