P0717 and p0715

I have a 01 f250 4x4 auto and I'm having shifting problems. I pulled codes today and got p0717 and p0715. Input and output speed sensor codes. I pulled both sensors and cleaned them and put dielectric grease on the plugs with no change. I ordered two new sensors but have a hard time believing both sensors are bad. What is the best way of checking the wiring to both sensors. I inspected what wires I could see under the truck and they looked fine. I had it on the scanner and the input sensor would show a reading in low gear but once it was out of low the reading went to zero. The output sensor read all the time. Thanks.
