oil leak

I have a 99 F-350 automatic. When you start it up, tranny fluid is leaking on top the tranny back towards the transfer case. Any ideas?

the case is being pressurized and pushing fluid from the vent.

Would that mean that there's simply too much trans fluid in there or something else?
