Auto tranny lever stiff

e99 auto tranny. Took the shift cable off of the tranny and the shifter is smooth. What can I do to fix this problem and is it internal of the tranny or is it the part attached to the outside of it. Thanks in advance!!!

I had the same problem, I took the panel off under the steering wheel, four thumb screws and it pops off. Looking up on the right side you can see the bottom of the shift lever. I put my hand in there and found it by wiggling it around and the shift lever moved. Ok, on the end where your hand is there is two bolts. My bolts had come loose. It takes a star bit to tighten them up. I tightend mine up and it fixed most of the problem for me. I just bought my truck and it must have been like that for a while. Hope this helps you.
