2002 whining - change the atf or not?
I have been meaning to change my tranny oil since I bought the truck, but it looks like I waited or the previous owner waited too long - @ 150k now.
It has started a low whine around 40mph+.
The dip stick has the slightest hint of sparkles on it (didnt before), doesnt smell burned, has a nice light red shade to it, not dark, but the metal and whine has me concerned.
I have been told in the past that the fluid has to stay in it otherwise a fluid change could dislodge junk in the tranny and cause immediate problems.
Does anyone have any ideas on this?
