no reverse....

I pulled a truck out from being stuck unhooked him and my trans was fine. I went in reverse shortly after that back in drive and then reverse again to get around a vehicle. the 2nd time I went into reverse there was no gear... all of my forward gears work perfect and are still firm shifts. I have a john wood valve body but otherwise the trans is stock. help!!!!
