Reverse bogging down

GOt my 99 7.3 back for the shop about 2 weeks ago. Transmission shift pack solenoid was bad. Truck has been running good so far. But tonight when i put it in reverse... the engine bogged down and didnt have much power until i pushed the pedal down harder. It gave a puff of black smoke and went back to normal. Every time i put it in reverse i had to accel to stop the bogging down. Any ideas?
