Tranny slipping 3rd

I got a 2003 f350 7.3 I used to have a bully dog gt that was my first problem but any way it slipped 3rd gear once so i took it off tranny ran fine but now every so often 3rd gear will slip I'll hit the throttle and it just won't catch so I let off and rpms drop then get back up to speed and it's fine I'm not much of a tranny guy so I'm guessing a rebuild will be coming soon us thier anything I can do for the time being without spending the money on a rebuild?

Mine was doing the same thing. I called John Wood. He said its the center section that has gone bad. Within a week or so it would no longer catch 3 rd by letting off the throttle. I had several post back in end of March first of April about it. Ended up with a ford rebuilt unit for the warranty.
