99 F350 4R100 Problem
Overheated my transmission last summer at the dunes backing my trailer into our camp spot on the sand. Tranny fluid was everywhere. I towed it home, and it sat for a month or 2 before I figured I'd add some fluid and see if it would move or not. Drove like a champ, but every once in a while it would leak fluid. I checked the level, and it was considerably high on the stick, so I drained it down to read properly. Now it won't move forward or reverse.
What could cause the transmission to work if it's overfilled and not work when the levels are correct? |

In case anyone would like to know the solution, it was the filter in the tranny. It was broken up where it seals on the snorkel, so it was just pumping air rather than fluid until the level was up to the broken portion.
