Question overdrive holding too long please help

Hi guys im wondering if something is wrong with my tranny .. im new too diesels so idk if there supose too shift like this but i have a 2002 7.3 auto and when your going down the road at like say 40-50 and its in overdrive and u go too go up a hill my truck does not want too come out of overdrive i can push the pedal down allmost too the floor and then once i get so far it goes into passing gear .. idk if this is what its supose too do or what i have just been used too gas trucks that when they get too luged down they pop out of over drive if u push the pedal down a little .. like unlock the torque converter i think its called .. can someone please help .. and if im going just fast enough for it to go into overdrive it will do the same thing too

could be completely normal. Tough to tell by your description.

Idk what the fuel preasure is dont have a gauge too.check it .. but im now have a problem with it like missing when it is idleing and driving and it dont have any power really so ill be trying too figure that out

That's normal remember diesels have a lot of bottom end torque.. Unlike a gas job.. And don't run it if ya think you have a fuel pressure problem cuz you will kill you injectors.
