4R100 or 4R100 HD?
Hello all!
I have a 2001 F 250 SD 4WD CC 7.3. It had a trans replaced at 84,721 miles about 4 years after purchase by previous owner (which is a friend) The truck was dealer serviced regularly while he had it. I am trying to find out if the transmision installed is a standard or HD 4R100. It was done at Ford dealer. I am currently at 213,300 miles, fluid, filter changed regularly and have a Dieselsite external also. The PN from invoice is 1C3Z7000FBRM. I dont tow as much and as heavy loads as he did but I do occasionally tow 10,000 lb car hauler, I have a temp guage and am purchasing a 6.0 31 row cooler. I know that the 4R100 is the weak link in the drivetrain and I am wondering how much life she has left. any input is much appreceiated. |

That part number is a standard rebuild.

Thanks Bryce, That is what I was afraid of, only a standard replacement. I am getting ready to to a complete fluid flush and filter change (both) to the Amsoil Torque Drive. I have the 31 row cooler but I want to see how my magnet and inside of pan looks before I install the cooler. If lots of debris in pan I am not wasting the Amsoil, I will use standard ATF until I can get it fixed. What are your thoughts on using a flush before fluid change?
Thanks again!! |
