problem with my auto trans

hello first post here. i have a 2001 f250 7.3 auto 4x4. there seems to be a problem with my trans. when its cold or hot it will sometimes not go into 3rd or 4th and when it does it will kick out and back in at random. i still have first and second gear.

i don't have any gauges so i don't know if the trans is overheating.

any help will be greatly appreciated.

Does your O/D light flash during this?

i pulled the pan and my trans is gone. i don't have the od button anymore but there's steel in the pan.lol i'm going to get the trans rebuilt and do a cummins swap. i was hoping to get one more year out of the motor too but 3 dying injectors and a trans.

i have all the parts to swap. i just hate that i have to start now.. oh well it's how it goes sometimes you know.

If you wanna get it built for good get a BTS.

Agh that is a bummer, a little bigger than what I was going to suggest haha.

Do you have the donor engine yet?

i have a 02 dodge that was rolled so i have all i need on that end.i can't afford a bts just yet so i have to live with just a simple rebuild and shift kit for now.

Do a valve body. They are modified correctly and aren't left up to the customer to fine tune.
