Faster Shifting Tranny

I drove my brothers duramax the other day and it has a edge and it seems to shift really quick and smooth but it still has a firmer shift. Didnt know if it was possible to get my 7.3L transmission to shift a little quicker. In my "HOT" tune when i put it to the floor it shifts at about 3000rpm and i didnt know if it was possible to make it shift at 2300-2600rpm. I have a SunCoast tranny and i was wondering if i could make it shift faster and earlier but still have a firmer shift. Thanks any imput would be GREAT!!

If your flooring it, why would you want it to shift at 2300RPM?

I said 2300-2600, I just think if it shifted like my brothers dmax that it would be a faster truck. Also when im at WOT, and before shifting into 3rd and 4th it likes to hesistate at 3000. I would like to get rid of the hesitation in shifting and get a little quicker of a shift

well theres your problem right there, your wanting a 7.3 to be fast

Call your chip maker and have them change your shift points.. And get a modded trans valve body.. It will firm up your shifts also get a better torque converter so it will hold better.. i can chirp my tires going into 2nd if i get on it hard. I only have a dp with 80hp tune and a john woods torque converter with his modded valve body.. Jody at dp worKed my shift points and my truck isnt fast nor do i drive it fast.. It just shifts quick and tight for towing.. again its a 7.3, not a duramax.. 2 differnt trucks..

Pretty sure he said he had a suncoast trans, he should be good with the valve body and converter, but your right the tunes probably could be tweeked.

sorry missed that.. then yes his tuner would have to be tweaked..
