Gear Selector won't go pass 2 and shift into 1st?

Today I finally adjusted the gear selector lever which was off by 1 whole gear (P said R, D said 2, etc.) but I still have the same problem as before. I can't shift past 2. I take the gear selector lever and it physically won't go pass 2. When in Drive it takes off good, so I'm pretty sure 1st gear is working good. And when in 2 it feels as if it is in second (takes off slow). So I think it is either the gear selector level or something else. Don't mind replacing the gear selector lever since it is broken anyways (OD button doesn't work). I would like to get the OD button to work and be able to put it in 1st, since I tend to use both features for towing boating and retrieving them. Well, thanks.
