2003 f250 7.3 rear main seal myself

Hi, im new to this site a mechanic said my rear main seal is leaking and a piston needs to be changed in cylinder 6 i was thinkin about changing the rear main seal myself how hard would this be also how much would it cost to fix the piston and my hpop is new and the rings are good . Any insight or tips would be helpful thanks

"Rear main seal" leaks are something else 95% of the time. Any oil leak on top of the motor will run down there. Get a good flashlight and look carefully in the valley for leaks. Might have to clean it first. Prime suspect locations are turbo pedestal, hpop. Lay a pad on the motor to be not quite so uncomfortable while you are up there.

Also, what is wrong with that piston?

check you turbo pedistal o ring or the hpop lines very coomon prob i have never seen a rear main seal leaking
