just rebuilt e40d in 1997 f-35o 1st gear ok 2nd gear ok noshift into 3rd or 4rth more or less free wheels rebuilt converter installed

Do you really want to know all the things that could cause that??
I'll give you a few.
Missing or missplaced ck balls, Loose bolts on v/ body, solenoid pack, missing or cut rubber seal diredt drum, cracked ring direct drm, loose or missing center support bolt, wrong v/body gskts, loose bolts over accumulator body, stuck accumulator shif valves, etc,etc
