New 4r100 HD
Hello, I just installed a new 4r100HD transmission into my 2002 F250 Powerstroke and has anyone used one of these? I think that the shifting is terrible, slips or slow shift into all gears and if accelerating lightly it seems to shift into torque converter lock up and OD almost at the same time and even seems like it revs slightly at times under light acceleration does not do this when accelerating hard, I sure hope this is not the way they are programing these things! I think it sucks, I was told and also read on paperwork when purchased that it would shift a little harder than stock and that the torque converter was much better than the original one, Do I need to install a shift kit and get rid of the pulse width lock up valve in the pump to get it to shift better? Has onyone experienced this with this transmission? Any answers would be great I have about 500 miles on it and really wish I would of kept my money and went with a sunnco a little more money but supposed to be a better setup. But now hoping a shift kit and getting rid of the pwm valve will fix. Please help before I waste any more money.

New 4r100HD
I have talked to the dealer and they say run it a little longer and see if it changes, but I think this is bull, I have a ats bb turbo ats dual 4" exhaust superchips program, afe stage 2 intake air system and guages for pyro and boost, my last transmission was stock except for the pulse width modulator valve for the convertor lock up changed to a on-off and a transgo shiftkit and a banks torque convertor worked excellent until 70,000 miles then lost either O/D or the torque convertor, still shifted great in first 3 gears and reverse.

I would think long enough... I just wanted to know more a about the HD that I've been looking at and I want to see if he'd give an answer to the issue...
ALONG with the FACT so many forum post everywhere never post a conclusion to an issue :-( and that chaps my a$$ |

Removed the superchips prpgrammer and it shifts fine, now running a sct programmer and getting ready for a stallion torque converter, billet input shaft and a transgo tugger2 hd reprogrammer with a deep pan. But shifts fine without the superchips.
