New John Wood Trans
Just received my John Wood trans. I am going to install this weekend, any tips would be great from anyone who has done a trans swap before.
One thing i am not sure of is how to turn over the motor to access all of the torque converter bolts. Any ideas? Thanks |

I use a 1/2" ratchet with a socket on the crank shaft balance bolt

Make sure you add an inline filter!!

So the installation went without any problems! I gotta say the new John Wood towmaster is great! The shifts are firmer and the truck just performs better off the line. John was great and answered all my questions.
If you are having problems with the stock tranny, JW is worth every penny! Couple of hints for anyone doing the swap - you dont need to remove the starter or (stock) exhaust. |

Do you mind telling what the towmaster set you back and whats included with it? I'm thinking of going that route with my truck but still researching all the options.

What is the warranty on the JW tranny? I'm reading some places what looks like just a 2 year/50,000 mile warranty? Is that true? Even BTS super tranny now has a less than lifetime warranty I hear?

No, BTS is 2 years unlimited..after that just pay shipping.
JW please call him for info on his warranty |
