Rattle noise at idle HELP!
Hello,
I've searched the forum but cannot find anything that sounds like my issue. I have a '99 7.3l F250, 140xxx miles. I have an extra sound other than the normal diesel engine at idle sound. It's usually only at idle and goes away under power. I took it to a local heavy truck shop and they say it's the torque converter. They gave me two options, an equivalent replacement for $375, or a "heavy duty" one for $750. Does anyone know what the difference is, and if it's worth another $400 for the heavy duty? |

I have found some HD ones for less than $750, it your price includes parts and labor, I would think good price.
