A clutch question...

Does anyone know how much play/wear is allowable on the input shaft where the pilot bearing rides?

Just pulled out my old clutch (OEM) since it has been slipping. Found the spring hub coming apart and the pilot bearing disintegrated! And found a shallow goove on the input shaft where the pilot bearing was. That groove has me concerned about my new pilot.

I'll be putting it back together with the input shaft as-is. Just wanting to know how short the new pilot bearing's life-span may be.

Instead of putting a pilot bearing back in contact South Bend Clutch and get their kevlar bushing...they work awesome !!!!!!!!!!!
