Torque Convertor woes = BTS Christmas Present

Another one Bites the Dust ! My 2001 SD F-350's trannie finally took the dump... And it figures, just my luck,,, it happened on my way to Surgery.. !

2 weeks ago, I had started off the week with a mild stomach virus, or so I thought..... Weds morning rolls around and I deciede to go the my family Doc.
I am early for appointment, so a bottle of water is the ticket. Stopped at the corner stroe by Doc office, get bottle of water, start truck put it in reverse, the thing stumbles, stutters very badly , shaking and truck dies. Strted right up, fine in N,, but same thing in reverse.... what the he!!,,, I make it to Doc office, all's good in forward, no hot temps, nothing. Doc says, not appendix, may be virus, sets me up for a CAT scan to make sure,,,, Hospital is 12 miles away. On the way, the revesre thing was still there, foward gears alright, but 10 miles later temps begin to rise, upwards of 180.... I stop at a mechanics shop that had changed an injector once.... He says, Yep, the TC blew up... So I leave and drive on the hospital with temp hitting 220 degrees, but I had no choice at that time... ER doc pokes and prods, says, not appendix, but let's cat scan ya...... 20 minutes later, he comes back and says, good thing you're here, appendix has to come out..... SO now, great,,, laying in the horsepital bed, w/ the backless gown, making arraingents to have tuck towed home.

Truck gets home,,, next day I get home sore as he!!,,, Call Tina at Brians Truck Stop---- Get a Dec 8 build date, trannie due in today12/13..., have to have truck towed again to local shop to have tranny swapped out. Ends up being a much lusted after Present for my truck / me,,,, but timing is such that it turned out to be my one and only Christmas Present to my self..
