will not drop out of over drive when you push in the switch
will not drop out of over drive when you push the button. i checked the switch and it is ok. so i got a silanoid for the tranny and was wandering where it is located at my book will not tell me but i think it should be in the pan. if any one can help give me a shout.

can any one tell me where the location of the over drive sylinoid is at on the trans mition for a 2001 f 250?

You do need to remove the pan. They sit on the passenger side. It can be a little bit of a pain to pull out.

good i was heading in the right spot then. the hanes book on this truck will not tell me any thing about it. so i am glad some one chimed in, thanks. this would be a good time to put a plug in the pan.

so how has your 01 been holding up? mine just took out #3 piston busted the 2nd and the oil ring.

It is doin good. Replaced CPS, alternator, battery's and trans went out at around 68k. I need to replace the ball joints but I love the truck! I've got 104K on it now. I wounder what caused the #3 cylinder prob?

well that good. i have 153,000 on mine and have done the samethings to is allready. just fired up the motor tonight and had it out running around. she is running very good. now in the next week or so i will do the tranny.

pulled pan. and did not see any silanoid that looks like the one i have from the parts store. and my reapair book dose not show any thing about this part of the tranny. i did see i have 5 solenoid in there on the pasenger side of the trans. pulled them but i do not know which one controlles my switch from the cab to turn my OD off. so if any one knows of a website that can show me what i am looking for that would be a lot of help.

the one on the passenger side with the electrical connection and the #30 torx screws are the solenoids. The are grouped together in a block. You should have an orange, yellow, green, or black plastic cover on them. |

yes i seen them and took them out. but nune of them look like what the parts store gave me.
