od light flashing??? help
got in my truct tonight after letting it run for a few minutes. noticed that the overdrive light was flashing. tried to get codes and there were no codes. also after restarting flashing went away. this is the second time this has happened.

That flashing light is to your trans, what the CEL is to the engine.
A good scanner will tell you what code is there... |

Sorry to tell you, but most likely your torque converter on the way out. Anytime you get a flashing OD light, it's not good.

I have the same O/D light flashing and im getting codes P2701 p2703 p0766 p0757 p0576. im told these are soleniods and clutches. Are they correct?

mine done the same thing as well, turned out it was the sensor at the top of the rear end housing shorting out... good luck

Its not always a bad tranny.... mine had the same thing sensor was replaced... scan it cheers

It's not always a tranny going out. Not long ago, my BIL had the wiring harness going to the tranny shorting out it would intermittently flash the od light. He had a shop replace the harness and has been good as gold ever since.
Best advice I have ever received on these trucks is don't jump to conclusions. Always scan it with a GOOD scanner first before throwing parts at it. |
