Trans locked up!
02 550 6spd.
I'm driving home about 30 miles from home, truck had run fine for 90+/- miles. cruise was on, and something started kinda jerking real faintly and i just figured it was the cruise control going in and out of throttle. so i hit the brake to turn off the cruise for my exit comin up in 3/4 mile. so the truck slows a little, then clank clank clank BOOOOOMMM. so i push the clutch in and coast to the side of the interstate. start the truck back with shifter in neutral and start letting out on the clutch, chokes the truck down.... try all different gears and nothing changes. the transmission is locked in some gear or between gears... and will not turn at all its now lying in my floor and you cannot turn the rear shaft or the the front shaft... any ideas??? the trans does have a pto, but the shifter for it was not nor had been engaged that day..... give me some kind of good news please.... Thats the easy part.... its putting it back together that will be the difficult part for me!

|
did you check the fluid level and condition?
did you pull the inpection plate off the side?
