Coast Brake 4R100

How can I turn off the coast brake on my 4R100 trans. Would like to be able to turn it off/on when ever I want. The harness diagram shows a red wire that controls the solenoid and I was wondering has anybody installed a switch on that wire and if I did would it throw a code or affect the trans.

A locked converter gives better MPG's

No reason to want to unlock it while cruising

I think we are talking about two different things. I'm talking about the coast brake not the locking torqe converter Two different things. When you are going about 55 and let off the gas the truck will slow down rapidly. I looked up the info for that trans (4r100) and it has a coast brake that is doing it. It is solenoid controled and the wiring diagram says it is a red wire and if i put a switch in it will it mess up the trans or throw a code I want to turn it off/on when I want to

I'm sorry but it's called a coast clutch and it is controled by the CCS. I am trying to get the trans to freewheel when I let off the gas/diesel

It slows rapidly because your converter is locked at that speed. It will unlock if you let out of the pedal and it gets below 45 mph.

Get a custom chip with an econo tune. Thats the only way to achieve what you want
