01 F250 when coming to stop wont go to 1St

I have a 2001 F250 W/7.3 and what is going on is wants this thing gets warm and i am coming to a stop it wont shift back to 1st i have to manualy shift it from this point and i notice the od light is flashing but this dont happen all the time it only does this when the light flashes. I had a friend put it on the comp. and it is saying the out put speed sensor and the tc wont unlock so am i looking at just the speed sensor and all will be fine or is it terminal????

sometimes mine doesnt shift into 1st unless i put the hammer down, i thought it was normal, no codes though.

here's a hopefully a tech will jump in for you don't mess around with a flashing od light, u could end up with bigger problems,

Does it up shift normal otherwise? Have you recently done any work to it?

Yea it up shifts fine otherwise. And no work done on it at all

You can test the speed sensor and see if it is bad. Use an ohm meter. 781-1979 ohms is the range. It sounds like the prob.
