Which Valve Body kit?

First of, I am afraid of automatic trannies, never been in one except to change the filter. I'm looking for a valve body kit and the prices range all over the place. Which is the best bang for the buck? Which ones are junk? Truck is just a daily driver but I noticed some delay between shifts from 1-2 and 2-3 under hard accel. Just looking to create some longevity. Also considering the TC lockup mod, good or bad idea?

from the looks of the writeups, I can handle the valve body upgrade. Is it enough or should I send it out for an overhaul and replace the TC?

taking out the valve body is simple, you guys can do it even if you have no mechanical skill, i took mine outta my last truck and put in the bullydog shift enhancer. I plan on getting a bts or john wood one this go around, but its pretty simple just a lot of bolts.

To change a VB you will need a inch pound Tq wrench.

would something like a valve body upgrade be enough to handle a basic bolt on truck?or is it a time bomb regardless?

I've got 210k miles. I dont tow often but it's nice to not have to worry when I do. Last year I was pulling a guy out in 4 low; engine turned up, none of the wheels turned and the tranny hemoraged fluid out the vent. Drove it home, topped off the fluid, been fine since. Is it worth it for me to put a valve body kit in? I know I can do it, read up on it and I feel plenty confortable with it. I just have no idea which one to get. I also just made one of those TC lockup switches. Is this a bad idea?

No one can say with those miles if adding anything will make it last longer. One thing if you do get a BTS VB and later when your trans fails we get you full credit for it toward your new BTS..if you decide on one. We ship BTS trans all over the country some have even been shipped to Alaska

Same goes if you add a new Tq converter it may or may not help your trans last.
